Lifting Exercise: Clean-Up and Smear

I did the little clean up version above ^
Then, after looking at the slight jolt between her standing and bending over, I decided to try to draw a smear in-between.
This is my rough smear:

Before this course, I was aware of the use of smears and a fan (my favourite one is from a moment in the Simpsons where Bart’s eyes dart back and forth), but as I’m v new to actually animating myself, I’d never drawn one before.
Christina Nerland had talked to us briefly about smears previously, and I watched some of this tutorial to better get to grips with it:
As it’s just a rough, and it’s dinner time now n I’m sleepy, I only watched a few mins of it, and mostly just figured it out by myself. I think it helped to do a mixture of trial and error and research. I’m gonna come back to it and try one out on the cleaner version

One difficulty with the one above, was that I was drawing between a stick girl and a more fleshed-out girl, as well as between two very different poses. This meant I had to make my smear not only positioned between the two, But Also a mixture of a stick girl and a fleshy girl. This was pretty tricky. Hopefully it will be easier in the cleaner version. :))

Edit: I have now done the cleaner smear!!

Drawing a smear the second time around was easier, having had the practise with the rougher version! :>
