Storytelling with Robert Bradbrook

we had a session with robert bradbrook from the NFTS about storytelling
an important point i took from it was the necessity of having a Mission Statement
know what you’re gonna Say with your story, have a clear idea.
my group was Polina, Sofia, October and myself
we all drew 3 images that came to mind when thinking about the past week
mine is above ^ here are the others:

we then wrote a story using the images we had contributed. I thought it was a really fun way of writing. it’s so flexible and there are lots of points of inspiration. i love putting the images together to find connections and themes.
we came up with a really great story with a message about the importance of looking after yourself in difficult times. it also had the theme of memory and connection. here it is summarised:

i love collaborating when making things. just saying ideas out loud to others helps me to consolidate and grow good ideas, and i love when people contribute new ideas and perspectives. it’s so much more fun when something’s a collaboration. it was really easy to write our story, and the same thing was true in robert bradbrook’s previous session, where Clo, Sofia and I all wrote a story about characters based on our chairs. both collaborations were a lot of fun and we made stories i was very proud of.
i hope i can collaborate a lot in the future! writing stories as well as collaborating visually. i love when there’s a mixture of styles.
